![]() ![]() A friend of mine had ever asked for help: I have no idea what to do with EVO files downloaded from HD DVD, nothing on Mac seems to read them and I don't know how to convert them into something Mac friendly without losing quality… If you have lots of EVO files downloaded from HD DVD on your Macbook or iMac, you will be annoyed by its incompatibility problem of any Mac software, confused by the impossibility to edit in iMovie/FCP/FCE, or play with QuickTime Player, iTunes. EVO files can contain video encoded in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, VC-1, or MPEG-2 and audio encoded in AC-3, E-AC-3, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD, PCM, and MPEG-2. ![]() It is an extension to VOB, which is an extension to MPEG program stream. It contains the actual video, audio, subtitle and menu contents in stream form. EVO file (Enhanced VOB) is a container format contained in HD DVD video media. ![]()
